Kos Island International Airport (IATA: KGS, ICAO: LGKO) is the only airport of Kos island. It has two terminals with only one air gateway. Although not very busy during the winter period, summer period charter flights make the airport the 6th busiest of Greece. It is located around 26 km / 16 miles to the south-west of Kos Town.
There are daily scheduled flights to Athens and other destinations of Greece by Aegean airlines, Olympic airlines e.t.c. Charter companies connect the island to Uk, Germany and other countries. Kos port is another alternative to reaching the islang. Although ferries offer nice view of the Aegean sea, they do not provide the comfort of a 50 minutes travel time to the island.
